Did you know you can use the transfer service (overstap service)? It means that you don’t have to cancel your old health insurance yourself, but your new insurer will do that for you. Please
note: In order to use the transfer service this needs to be done by January the 1st 2020 with your new insurer. Do not forget to indicate that you want to use the transfer service.
Would you like to switch health insurance, but you would like to wait until January to make a final choice? Then you have to cancel your own health insurance before January 1st. You then have until the 31st of January to sign up for a new insurance. Your new insurance will be valid from the 1st of January with retroactive effect.
You can only switch to a different health insurer once a year. Even if you are choosing to continue the same coverage we recommend you closely review the conditions of your current insurance as changes to coverage occur regularly.
The excess on your health insurance introduced in 2008 applies only to care that is covered by the basic insurance (basis verzekering). Chiropractic is covered by the supplementary part of your health insurance (aanvullende verzekering), so therefore it cannot be charged to you as excess.
